When Should You Book a Photographer? (Seasons + Timeline Guide) By Windswept Film Co. — Portrait & Lifestyle Photographer in Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities, WA & surrounding areas)

How early should you book a photographer?

One of the most common questions clients ask is:

“When should I book my photoshoot?”

The answer depends on the season and type of session, but generally:

📅 Book 2–3 months in advance for regular sessions

📅 Book 4–6 months ahead for peak seasons (spring + fall)

Booking early means more date options, better planning time, and the chance to reserve your ideal golden hour.

However — if you’re hoping to book sooner, please still inquire!

Most of our clients actually book within just a few weeks of their session, and we often have short-notice availability, especially for weekdays.
